What is FORS and why is it for you?
FORS offers a range of tools that help drivers, fleet managers, and organisations measure and improve performance across all aspects of their fleet operations and demonstrate best practice.
Becoming a FORS member can bring you the peace of mind that your company is managing its work-related road risk (WRRR) – and demonstrates to your customers and supply chain your commitment to exceeding the industry standard.
The key benefits FORS offers operators include:
Improving road safety awareness
Improving fuel efficiency and reducing fuel emissions
Reducing the number of fines and other vehicle-related charges
Better understanding and knowledge of the fleet industry
It is mandatory for FORS operators to assess operational and driving at work risks with control measures documented as a procedure, risk assessment or method statement. There are eight health and safety risks assessments or method statements required where applicable – this means you only need to demonstrate this at audit IF it applies to your operation. These are listed at page 13 of the FORS Standard version 5. One of these is Risk assessment - M8. Working Around Vehicles, at Height, Slip, Trips, Falls V1.0.
This is a stand-alone product. Alternatively, you may want to purchase one of our complete FORS Help packages – FORS Help Basic, FORS Help Support, or FORS Help Full Pre-Audit package, where all contain everything you need to pass your FORS accreditation.
Please note that our documents are templates only. Operators must ensure they fully complete their own risk assessments and adjust where required. If you would like to learn more about writing company policies do not hesitate to GET IN CONTACT with us.
